Closed in 2003 after 150 years of operation, only four buildings remain of the original mining site: the bath-showers, the lamp room, the infirmary and administrative spaces. In anticipation of a renovation initiated by the Freyming-Merlebach Community of Municipalities to accommodate a village hall, we have inventoried:
- Heritage elements
- Furniture
- Signage
- Colours of the different spaces
This inventory’s aim is to preserve memory and identity elements of the place that will take place on the future site and influence its interior and exterior layout.
